GEEE RECEIVES $1000 GRANT FROM GIFT FOUNDATION

Geneseo Endowment for Excellence in Education (GEEE) received a $1000 grant from the GIFT (Geneseo Is For Tomorrow) Foundation at its monthly meeting, Monday.  "GEEE does wonderful work in the community, they type of work that GIFT Foundation was established to foster," says Katie Andrios, GIFT board chairman, "Although is  in its infancy, as funds become available, the GIFT Foundation will do all it can to help organizations like GEEE achieve their goals."

GEEE was established in 1990 to supplement the level of excellence found in Geneseo schools.  The group funds special projects above and beyond normal school district activities, projects that enhance educational opportunities and experience for area young people.

“The GIFT Foundation’s grant was very generous,” says Eunice Bean, GEEE board member. “GIFT is community minded. We appreciate their support.”

The goal of the GIFT Foundation is to enhance the quality of life in the Geneseo area.  Organized in 2003 as a community foundation, GIFT provides donors with services tailored to their charitable wishes.  It also provides additional tax advantages and fewer restrictions than private foundations, allowing more money to be channeled toward its intended purpose.

enhancing the educational experience of all children
in the district is very worthy of the support of the
GIFT Foundation," says Andrios.  "We are pleased
to help them achieve their goals."
