GIFT FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR POSITION
GIFT Foundation is celebrating its 8th birthday this year and is getting ready to take the next step in fulfilling its name – Geneseo Is For Tomorrow. The current Board of Directors, Katie Andrios, Sue Emmerson, Greg Heaton, Bob Kuhns, Brett Lohman, Mike Ricketts, Lorrie Snodgrass, Brad Toone and Tom Zwica, is beginning a search for an Executive Director. This person will help to lead the foundation into an exciting new phase in carrying out our mission: to enhance the quality of life in our Geneseo area by providing a means for permanent charitable giving to meet the needs of all donors for today and tomorrow.
An important role for the new Executive Director will be to increase the community’s awareness about charitable opportunities through the GIFT Foundation by meeting with area financial advisors, lawyers, families, and organizations to help them to create meaningful legacies for Geneseo. The Executive Director will be supported by both the GIFT Board and the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend (CFGRB). The GIFT Foundation is an affiliate of CFGRB, who provides training, technical and financial information, assists with all record keeping, filing of required tax forms, and shares current information regarding changing laws and guidelines. In addition, the Executive Director will have opportunities to meet with CFGRB staff and other affiliate Executive Directors for networking.
The GIFT Board of Directors envisions a future in which residents of Geneseo have taken full advantage of opportunities with a community foundation. Currently, the GIFT Foundation holds 25 separate charitable funds with assets of $1.4 million. The funds portfolio includes a community impact fund, organizational endowments, donor advised funds, scholarships, and others.
