GIFT FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE LOOMS
GENESEO—Two Geneseo High School seniors will be awarded $500 scholarships from the GIFT (Geneseo Is For Tomorrow) Foundation. Applications must be received by March 9.
“This scholarship is available to students with grade point average 2.5 or higher,” says Paul Lindsey, GIFT board member. “The lower GPA requirement for the GIFT scholarship provides an opportunity for many students who might not meet the GPA requirements for other scholarships.”
Criteria for the GIFT Foundation scholarships is weighted 25 percent based on the student’s involvement in school, the community, and personal activities; 25 percent based on ACT/SAT scores, and 50 percent based on the students GPA, 2.5 or higher. Payment will be made directly to the college or university for recipients’ tuition and costs.
“Applications can be picked up at the school guidance office,” says Lindsey, “or can be found on the GIFT website, www.geneseogift.org.”
The deadline for application submission is March 9. Winners will be notified in early May.
