GIFT FOUNDATION AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS

The GIFT Foundation (Geneseo Is For Tomorrow) recently awarded scholarships to recent high school graduates.

Garner Nursing Scholarships were presented to to Sarah Abell, Melissa Brummett, Glenda Carius, Abbey DeGrave, Dana Geffert, Molly Lillis, Kristin Mosher, Lexi Neuleib, Kathryn Pearson, Kerri Stage and Chelsea West.

High school scholarship winners this year were Emily Arnold and Carly Hamer.

Carly Hamer, who plans toward a degree in math education at Illinois State University, was awarded $500 . “I want to have an effect on children’s lives the way my teachers had on me,” she says.

Emily Arnold plans to study journalism at Dominican University. “Attending the university is the best way to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to become a good journalist,” she says. Emily received a $500 award.
