HILLCREST HOME RECEIVES GIFT GRANT OF $27,500

Geneseo—A $27,500 check was recently presented to Mary Bergren, adminstrator at Hillcrest Home by the GIFT Foundation. “This money is from the Bill and Susan Sherrard Trust,” says GIFT Foundation board member Joel Vandemore.

“These funds will be put to good use,” says Bergren. “We are constantly improving our facility to make it more comfortable for our residents.” Bergren goes on to note that the Home provides 24-hour skilled nursing care for nearly 100 residents as well as special events and activities that help residents maintain their ties with their families and community.

When Bill and Susan Sherrard were doing their estate planning they wanted to assure that as many of the people in the community who had touched theirs lives in a positive way were repaid. They earmarked funds to be used for educational assistance to students, for historical preservation and for nursing home care for the needy.

“I’m sure that this gift to Hillcrest Home will live up to the Sherrard’s expectations,” says Vandemore. “GIFT is very privileged to have been entrusted with the responsibility of managing these funds and assuring that the Sherrard’s intentions for these funds are carried out.”
